Sateesh Kumar (Rohit Shivam Bissesar) was kidnapped from his sleeping family in 1999, placed in Malaysian Social Services orphanage, and adopted by a family in the Netherlands in 2001. 

The boy was given the name “Rahul” by Dutch TV program Netwerk to keep his identity private.
