Who We Are
A Child Among Us is a state licensed, non-profit, non-sectarian, child placing agency. We are an active member of the Joint Council on International Children's Services, the Connecticut Council on Adoption and the Better Business Bureau. Our international adoption program is actively working in five countries and successfully placing children with couples and single men and women throughout the United States. Our domestic adoption program is based in Connecticut.
A Child Among Us views the child as the primary client in all that we do. Our experienced staff works with a high degree of integrity and energy to ensure that each individual situation is handled with care and the utmost responsiveness. We offer a vast array of services to children, adoptive parents, expectant parents, birth parents, adoptive children and adults.
Our agency views adoption as a life long process. Therefore, we are commited to assisting your family not only throughout the actual adoption and post-placement process, but also throughout your lives. We regularly host family and cultural events. ACAU encourages your involvement with our agency and welcomes your energy and input about our agency and its services.
