The Sisters of Providence came to Western Massachusetts 130 years ago with a mission to respond to changing community needs. Today, the Sisters of Providence Health System proudly continues that tradition.

- Mercy Medical Center, a 182-bed, acute care hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts, was founded by the Sisters of Providence in 1899. Today, Mercy is a state-of-the-art medical facility. Mercy offers a wide range of programs and services including cardiac care, maternity services, cancer treatment, breast care, emergency care, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, critical care, diabetes treatment, surgical procedures (inpatient and outpatient) and laser treatment.
- Providence Behavioral Health Hospital is a 126-bed behavioral health hospital located in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Providence provides both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services for people of all ages, short-term acute residential treatment for people experiencing acute psychiatric and/or substance abuse problems, and intensive outpatient chemical dependency programs.
- Weldon Rehabilitation Hospital, located at Mercy Medical Center campus in Springfield, is the only hospital-based rehabilitation center in Western Massachusetts. Weldon is a comprehensive, fully-integrated facility dedicated to improving the quality of life for people combating all types of disabilities. A full complement of therapists and certified rehabilitation nurses working with advanced technologies provide inpatient, outpatient, day and pediatric rehabilitation services to achieve the optimal level of physical, psychological, social and vocational functioning for each patient.
- Brightside for Families and Children is a social service organization located in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Brightside is recognized for its leadership in meeting the needs of children and families by offering adoption, residential treatment, counseling, family support programs and special education services.
- Life Laboratories is a full-service medical diagnostic laboratory serving physicians and nursing homes and their patients in Western Massachusetts. Life Laboratories specializes in clinical, anatomical and cytological medical laboratory testing. Labs are located at Mercy Medical Center and Providence Behavioral Health Hospital.
- Mercy Senior Care Network comprises six nursing care facilities and an adult day health program covering a wide geographic area in Western Massachusetts with locations in Springfield, Westfield, Turners Falls, Lenox and Holyoke. Each facility is staffed with experienced, caring individuals who are dedicated to providing quality, respectful care to each and every client.
