Dead Girls' Mother Indicted In Abuse Of 3rd Child
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (AP) ―
A Calvert County woman suspected in the deaths of her two adopted daughters whose bodies were found in a freezer has been indicted on attempted murder charges in the alleged abuse of her surviving daughter.
Court records unsealed Wednesday show that a county grand jury indicted Renee Bowman, 43, of Lusby on Monday on attempted murder and child abuse charges.
Detective Sgt. Michael Moore of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office told the Washington Post that the severity of the 8-year-old girl's injuries were part of the reason for the more serious charges in the indictment.
The case came to authorities' attention when the girl escaped the home last month. Investigators found the bodies of the two other girls in a freezer in Bowman's home.
