Girl raped by her own dad says prospect of dad being freed is ‘just another slap in the face’
An incest victim has bravely spoken out to blast the prospect of her dad being freed just three years into a 15 year prison stretch. Speaking ahead of her dad Sean Jackman’s impending parole board appearance, Samantha Killary said: ‘Im angry, and I’m sad, and I’m hurt, and I feel like it’s just another slap in the face.
‘It’s not right. It’s not justice.’ Killary, from Louisville in Kentucky, spoke out ahead of Jackman’s parole board hearing in November. She was adopted by Jackman as a toddler, and molested as a pre-teen and teenager between 2001 and 2006.
Killary, who is now an adult, secured her dad’s conviction after she recorded a phone call where the retired Louisville Metropolitan Police Department cop admitted to the abuse.
An excerpt from that phone call saw Jackson say: ‘I do have this pit in my gut all the time when I think about it. How remorseful I am about the worst, worst thing ever in my life.’
Killary answered: ‘I’m so confused how we went from, from you trying to educate me to you performing oral sex on me, Dad.’
Her dad then tried to blame his behavior on a porn addiction, replying: ‘I told you, I don’t really have any type of a logical lie. Way back when your mom and I were still together, I got tied up in stupid Internet porn crap.’
Killary has since launched a letter writing campaign encouraging supporters to write to the Kentucky Parole Board urging them to keep her dad behind bars.
She has attracted the backing of TV star Chris Hanson, who hosts criminal entrapment TV show To Catch a Predator, WDRB reported.
Killary explained: ‘I lost my entire childhood, and he’s lost, what, two-and-a-half years so far, of freedom.
‘I just don’t think that that is a reasonable punishment for the crime.
‘I don’t know how someone could be rehabilitated from something like this in a year-and-a-half when I’ve spent a decade, at least, in therapy and I still have a long way to go.’
