Lorton Man Charged with Murder of Wife and Daughter

Fairfax County police are investigating the death of a woman and her teenage daughter in Lorton, Virginia.

Bodies were discovered there inside a condominium in the 9200 block of Cardinal Forest Lane early Monday morning.

It came after police received a call from staffers at DeWitt Army Community Hospital at Fort Belvoir, asking them to check on residents at that condo.

They say a man who came into the hospital told them that they would find something there. That man is now being questioned.

Police charged Kenston Yi, 49, of 9238 Cardinal Forest Lane with two counts of murder. Yi is accused of killing his wife, Hyon Yi, 47 and daughter Joy Jahyon Yi, 15.

A National Guard Spokesperson says Yi is a West Point Graduate who currently works as an I.T. specialist for the National Guard.

Yi's Facebook page shows a picture of him and his wife and daughter smiling and happy.

There appears to be no signs of trouble.

Police aren't saying how the victims died. They say there is no obvious sign of a cause. But they say the incident appears to be domestic in nature.

Roger Dhramapitaksook rented the condo unit to the family almost a year ago.

He says, the Yi's were overall good tenants, but that the wife was very demanding.

He believes Kenston Yi was under pressure. He says, "I do believe he might have had a lot of pressure from his wife. That's my belief from what I seen."

Neighbors say they didn't hear or see anything leading to the discovery of the bodies.

They are troubled. Mickey Triplett says he never expected something so tragic to happen in their community. "It's sad to hear," he says.

The medical examiner must still determine how the victims died.
