Trial begins Monday for couple charged with murdering son

Final motions heard Thursday in case

MONROE — Jury selection will begin Monday in the trial against two Loganville parents facing charges in the 2009 death of their 6-year-old adopted son.

Jami Lea Jones, 43, and Louis David Jones, 43, are both charged with malice murder, felony murder, cruelty to children in the second degree and two counts of cruelty to children in the first degree. Both have been out on bond as the case has made its way through the court system and were present during a final motions and status hearing Thursday.
