Pair accused of abusing adopted children stand trial

RIVERSIDE - A couple accused of abusing their seven adopted children at a Perris home where authorities allege topless dancing and other suspicious activity occurred must stand trial on felony charges, a judge ruled today.

Gregory Bernard Lacy, 60, and his wife, LaQuron Deanise McLean-Lacy, 43, were arrested Oct. 10 following a Riverside County sheriff's investigation that led to findings the defendants allegedly had physically harmed their kids and exposed them to lewd conduct.

Greg Lacy is charged with engaging in sex acts with a minor under 10 years old and inflicting corporal injury to a child, while LaQuron McLean-Lacy is charged with two counts of child abuse.

Following a preliminary hearing at the Riverside Hall of Justice, Superior Court Judge Christian Thierbach ruled there was sufficient evidence to bound the defendants over for trial.

The judge scheduled a post-preliminary hearing arraignment for the pair on Feb. 4.

He left Greg Lacy's bail set at $1 million. The convicted felon is being held at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta.

McLean-Lacy's bail was also unchanged; she's free on a $50,000 bond.

According to investigators, the defendants allegedly ran a strip club out of the basement of their two-story residence in the 3000 block of Kalei Court, in the May Ranch subdivision of Perris.

The children told sheriff's investigators and representatives from Riverside County Child Protective Services that nude parties were held in their presence on a regular basis.

The lower level of the defendants' home was allegedly converted into a quasi dance floor, complete with a platform and stripper's pole, according to published reports. At least four of the children alleged they were struck with belts and a metal cane.

According to court records, Greg Lacy has several felony convictions, including robbery and theft, in the past 20 years
