A four-year-old Russian boy named Alex has died in Canada after being beaten to death by his adoptive mother’s boyfriend, Russian Children’s Rights Ombudsman Pavel Astakhov reported on Twitter. This is the second such case to be reported to the Russian authorities in the past few weeks. A one-and-a-half-year-old boy, Isaac Dykstra, died on August 14, 2005, three months after being adopted, Astakhov said. Russian diplomats were only recently informed of the investigation. 35-year-old Brian Dykstra was charged with the killing.
