Mother Accused Of Killing Daughter
ELK GROVE, Calif. -- A mother has been arrested on suspicion of killing her adopted 3-year-old daughter, Elk Grove police said Thursday.
Sabrina Banks was taken into custody Wednesday in Visalia on suspicion of murder, assault resulting in the death of a child under 8 years of age and endangering the life or health of a child, Officer Christopher Trim said.
Police and medics responded on May 2, 2008, to the 9900 block of Sorrentino Drive in Elk Grove after receiving a 911 call from Banks indicating that Lavender Banks was unresponsive.

The case was recently presented to the Sacramento County district attorney and an arrest warrant was issued.
