Gravelles ordered to jail for child endangering, abuse
NORWALK — Michael and Sharen Gravelle were ordered to report to the Huron County jail by Monday at 9 a.m. to begin serving their two-year prison sentences for child endangering and child abuse.
The 6th District Court of Appeals upheld their Huron County Common Pleas Court convictions for endangering some of their 11 adopted children. The Gravelles, who lived in Clarksfield Township, had used homemade, cage-like structures for the children to sleep in and which also were used for punishment.
The Gravelles were convicted in December 2006 of two misdemeanor and four felony counts of child endangering and five misdemeanor counts of child abuse but have been free on bond pending the outcome of their appeals.
The couple has since split and filed for a divorce, which is pending in the Huron County Common Pleas Court.
