An Orlando man accused of abusing his adopted Guatemalan son last May is scheduled to plead to charges this afternoon.
Brian Kloosterman, the husband of local pathologist and hematologist Dr. Stephanie Schreiner, is charged with felony child abuse and contributing to the delinquency or dependency of a minor.
It's unclear what charges he will plead to and whether he will plead guilty or no contest.
This was scheduled this morning but Orange Circuit Court Judge F. Rand Wallis didn't have time and asked the prosecutor and defense attorney to return at 2 p.m.
The charges stem from allegations made by the family's former nanny who told police she watched Kloosterman, on a surveillance monitor, "snapping [the child] in the face with the little boys' own underwear" and pinning the screaming child to the bed.
