Judge orders return of two abducted girls to their mother
Maria Fernanda and Ana Cristina, of four years and 1 1/2 years months respectively, are now in the warmth of their mother, Mildred Alvarado, after a year and a half apart and they were about to be handed over for adoption.
The Third Court today ordered the children return to Alvarado, Maria Fernanda, who she hass not seen since September 2006 when she was stolen, and Ana Cristina, she never saw.
In 2006, when Alvarado was pregnant with her second daughter, was dismissed from her job in a maquila, which was left without means of subsistence, and that her husband had left. A neighbor, who was apparently was "jaladora" a network of adoptions offered her to stay at home and care for Maria Fernanda, and gave birth to the child who would be Ana Cristina.
After eight months of gestation-September 2006 - Mildred gave birth to her daughter by cesarean section. They were abducted when Maria Fernanda, then two years, and Ana Cristina, newborn. Also took the state of Mildred to extract blood for a DNA test.
Mildred made efforts in state institutions and his case was released in several reports in Prensa Libre. A U.S. citizen who was to take the two girls saw the press and gave notice to the Guatemalan authorities.
Finally, it was found that girls were in a nursery (crib house) named Amor de Maria, where by order of court, returned today to the arms of his mother.
"I am very happy and excited to have recovered my daughters," said Mildred holding Ana Cristina and Maria Fernanda.

María Fernanda y Ana Cristina, de cuatro años y año y medio respectivamente, recibieron hoy el calor de su madre, Mildred Alvarado, tras un año y medio de separación y de que estuvieran a punto de ser entregadas en adopción.
El Juzgado Tercero de la Niñez ordenó hoy la devolución, a Alvarado, de María Fernanda, a quien no veía desde septiembre de 2006 –cuando se la robaron-, y Ana Cristina, a quien ni siquiera conocía.
En 2006, cuando Alvarado estaba embarazada de su segunda hija, fue despedida de su empleo en una maquila, por lo que se quedó sin su medio de subsistencia, ya que su esposo la había abandonado. Una vecina –que era aparentemente era “jaladora” de una red de adopciones- le ofreció que se quedara en su casa y le cuidaba a María Fernanda, en tanto daba a luz a quien sería Ana Cristina.
A los ocho meses y medio de gestación –septiembre de 2006-, Mildred dio a luz a su hija por cesárea. Fue cuando raptaron a María Fernanda, entonces de dos años, y Ana Cristina, recién nacida. También aprovecharon el estado de Mildred para extraerle sangre para un examen de ADN.
Mildred hizo gestiones en instituciones del Estado y su caso fue dado a conocer en varios reportajes en Prensa Libre. Una ciudadana estadounidense quien habría de adoptar las dos niñas vio las publicaciones de prensa y dio aviso a las autoridades guatemaltecas.
Finalmente, se determinó que las niñas estaban en una casa cuna de nombre Amor de María, donde por orden de juez, volvieron hoy a los brazos de su madre.
“Estoy muy alegre y emocionada de haber recuperado a mis hijas”, dijo Mildred al cargar en brazos a Ana Cristina y María Fernanda.
