Witness says Polreis hated her son

GREELEY - Renee Polreis, the Greeley woman accused in the death of her 2-year-old son David, said she hated the boy she had adopted from a Russian orphanage, a prosecution witness said Thursday. Polreis, 44, is accused of child abuse resulting in death in the Feb. 10, 1996, death of David, who had been adopted six months earlier. Her attorneys claim her son died from natural causes and from self-inflicted injuries caused by "reactive attachment disorder."
