Details released in boy’s slaying Adoptive mom allegedly beat, restrained child, 13, repeatedly

When the broom handle a Queen City, Texas, woman allegedly used to beat her restrained 13-year-old adoptive son broke, she sent his 14-year-old brother for a replacement, according to search warrant affidavits.

The search warrants were executed Thursday in connection with the arrest of Cynthia Hudson in the Dec. 3 death of Samuel Hudson. Prosecutors plan to seek a capital murder indictment against Hudson.
