Cass County adoptive mom charged with capital murder after son's death

An adoptive mother has been charged with murder in Cass County after investigators say she killed her 13 year old adopted son.

Cynthia Hudson, 45,  is accused of killing her son Samuel. The child's death was first called in as a suicide on December third at a home just north of Queen City on a county road. However, investigators say Hudson's story didn't match the injuries to the child. Hudson later unsuccessfully tried to commit suicide, and after being released from the hospital Monday, was charged with murder.

Five other children living in the home have been removed.
