Adopted father of deceased Cass County teen arrested

CASS COUNTY, TX (KSLA) - The adopted father of a deceased Cass County teenager now faces charges related to the investigation into the boy's death.

Authorities say they've charged William Hudson with tampering with evidence.

Earlier this week, his wife Cynthia Hudson was charged with capital murder for allegedly killing their 13-year-old adopted son.

District Attorney Clint Allen says the family had been abusing their kids for some time.

"We went to house this morning with search warrants. Among the things we were looking for was some type of an instrument that the mother apparently used to strike the kid," he said.

In a news conference Thursday afternoon, Allen said based on interviews with the other adopted kids, it was determined all of the children were deprived of food as well as abused.

He also said that a further indictment against the mother could mean the death penalty.
