Man Accused Of Sex With Minor

Scott Legrand, 46, was arrested at his home Thursday after a teen told his friends and a probation officer that he was being sexually abused by Legrand.

An Orange County man has been arrested, accused of having sex with a child.

Scott Legrand, 46, was arrested at his home Thursday after the teen told his friends and a probation officer that he was being sexually abused by Legrand.

The probation officer then notified the Department of Children and Families who in turn contacted the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said their investigation revealed that sexual abuse had taken place for the last nine months.

Legrand is a program manager with Devereux Florida, a contracted non-profit agency who helps place children in foster care, especially those with therapeutic needs.

That's how authorities said Legrand met the 17-year-old boy.

"He was placed in the Devereux center and that's where the relationship started," said Sgt. Rich Mankewich from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Now Devereux is working alongside DCF and the sheriff's office in this investigation.

Legrand has been put on administrative leave pending the outcome of this case.
