Silver Spring Woman Facing Charges Of Child Abuse, Assault

GERMANTOWN, Md (WUSA) The older sister of child abuse suspect Hyacinth Morgan tells 9 News Now her sister has had mental health issues for many years, including abuse of her natural daughter several years ago.

Hyacinth Morgan has been charged with child abuse, reckless endangerment , assault and false imprisonment of her 12-year-old adoptive daughter. Mary Morgan says Hyacinth refused to get counseling and as a result most of her sisters cut ties with her.

She also claims Hyacinth Morgan forged documents to win the adoption of the victim in this case.

Several years earlier, Mary Morgan contends Hyacinth abused her natural daughter who is now grown and no longer lives at home.

It is unclear if she was ever charged with abuse in that earlier case, which would have taken place before she won adoption of her 12-year daughter.
