Warsaw police arrested two Romanian citizens wanted under the European Arrest Warrant for human trafficking.

Forty-two year old Olimpia T. and 45-year-old Miron T. are wanted for ‘renting’ handicapped people and forcing them to beg for money on the streets of Budapest, Hungary.

Investigation of the case and the search for the couple has taken two years in Poland. The Romanians were arrested at a campground in Grochow, a district of Warsaw. The two gave police false identities.

An European Arrest Warrant was issued for the two in June 2008 by Romanian courts. Immediately following, the couple fled to Poland. (mmj)
