KEDIRI: Two of three babies born prematurely at Bhayangkara Police Hospital in Kediri municipality have been put up for adoption due to financial problems.
Hospital spokeswoman Emy Pudjiharti said the babies were born by Caesarian section on Tuesday at 2:17 p.m., 2:20 p.m. and 4:25 p.m.
All of them are boys and each of them weighed 900 grams and measured 36 centimeters in length when delivered.
"They were born prematurely, when their mother was only in her seventh month of pregnancy," Emy said.
She added all three babies were still being treated in the intensive care unit, with one of them in critical condition.
The parents, Sukamto, 19, and Fitria, 17, from Sumberbendo village, Banyakan district in Kediri regency, planned to give two of their sons to relatives because they could not afford to raise all three children.
Sukamto does not have a permanent job. - JP
