Clean Water - A partnership with A Child’s Right
WWO entered into an innovative partnership with the nonprofit organization, A Child’s Right, in order to provide clean drinking water to all WWO sites in Ethiopia and to all orphanages in Addis Ababa served by WWO.
The WWO-AHF Family Health Clinic and both sites of the WWO Academy now have clean water systems. An elevated tank was added at one of the WWO Academy sites, which increased the pressure there exponentially. The other two sites had great pressure already.
Clean water systems were installed at all orphanages where WWO treats children or provides services so that the children now have unfettered access to clean water. Projects at two more orphanages, where there was no running water at all, will be completed by late January.
We are proud to quote Eric Stowe, founder of A Child’s Right, about our partnership:
“I am back in country and just wanted to drop a line of thanks, huge thanks, to your Ethiopia staff and to WWO. Dr. Sophie and Mimi were simply incredible with their time and assistance while I was in Ethiopia. Without question, the project would not have been as successful without their guidance and support.
In all, it was a tremendous trip- very successful and impactful- thanks in no small part to WWO and your incredible staff in Ethiopia.”
We are deeply grateful to WWO Country Director Dr. Sophie Mengistu and Deputy Director Mimi Assefa, and our wonderful partners and friends at A Child’s Right.
