I am a HOPE client and would like to set the story straight, as I have heard straight from our agency.

The orphanage that Hope was working with was Kokobe. A MOWA official, Maihder was arrested for approving a child with a German agency from Kokobe when the courts know all other cases were not being approved.  The orphanage was and is not a "Hope" orphanage...they had a few (less than 7) children from that orphange but discontinued working with them prior to the arrest.  Unfortunately, the few children had been referred and the arrest of the official did put these children and adoptions in limbo. Most of the agencies that were largely affected by the ordeal were European agencies.

Maybe this will clear up some of the grossly inaccurate rumors.  The orphanages that Hope is currently placing children from are all wonderful and I trust them wholeheartedly!
