Rejeição deixa estragos difíceis de raparar

Segundo Manuel Coutinho, que é também coordenador da linha SOS criança do Instituto de Apoio à Criança, sempre que há uma quebra de laços afectivos há uma fragilidade emocional que compromete todo o equilíbrio.
Manuel Coutinho considera que quem pretende adoptar deve contactar com outros pais para avaliar os prós e os contras da sua decisão, evitando assim este tipo de situações.
«Sempre que exista a expectativa de um novo acolhimento afectivo, sempre que a criança sonha com a possibilidade de ter alguém que goste dela tal como ela é, essa ferida do abandono inicial diminui um pouco», referiu.
Contudo, adiantou, se ao abandono inicial se somar outras graves rejeições afectivas abre-se «uma ferida psicológica que não pára de sangrar e que faz estragos».
Perante uma rejeição numa pré-adopção, explicou, as instituições têm de dar uma atenção especial para que ela consiga organizar-se novamente.
«É necessário cerzir aquela falha», referiu, acrescentando que crianças que passam por processos destes sem que houvesse tempo de «reparar o dano» ficam como que «cristalizadas do ponto de vista emocional e passam a fingir afectos».
Candidatos podem não estar preparados
Já no que respeita aos candidatos à adopção que não conseguem continuar o processo na fase de confiança judicial, Manuel Coutinho explica que podem não estar preparados.
«É frequente fazerem com os filhos adoptivos o que não fazem com os biológicos, sonharem com uma criança com as características que desejam, e isso não pode acontecer», disse.
