b) The second question was whether there were any cases of child trafficking in Rwanda? and inter country adoption.
Ans) She said that Rwanda does not accept plenary adoption, where kids are adopted abroad and never return to see their families, yes many are adopted but they do come regularly to Rwanda to see their next of kin. And that there is no child trafficking in Rwanda the cases that occurred were immediately dealt with by the law, she cited a few cases of a lady in Gisenyi who was caught trying to traffic girls to Monuc "peace keepers" in the DRC Goma and taken to the authorities and a pastor in BUTARE who was trying to traffick children to Burundi was also prosecuted.
