At the moment, there is a major scandal in Nepal -- allegations that a stolen child has been sent abroad in adoption (i.e., an international kidnapping). Sujata Koirala (the prime minister's daughter) was allegedly taking bribes to protect the children's home (Swastik).
The story ran in Suryodaya Weekly on August 15th -- the day Prachanda (the Maoist leader) succeeded Koirala as Prime Minister.
Swastik is the same home that was involved in the Sunita Bhattarai scandal (the birth mother who doused herself in kerosene and set herself alight after discovering that her child had been sent in adoption to Spain):

In 2006, the French Foreign Service posted a notice warning families against adopting through Swastik or NCO/Bal Mandir (two of the more controversial children's homes in Nepal). See Nchild post #5986 for the original warning and an English translation:

I don't know the truth of the recent allegations regarding Swastik and Sujata Koirala. Still, Nepali adoptions will probably remain frozen until the current scandal dies down.
