Las 50 adopciones pendientes en Nepal por parte de familias catalanas podrán ser tramitadas, después de que el Gobierno nepalés anunciara que tiene "previsto resolver los casos de adopción pendientes en el menor periodo de tiempo posible", según informó hoy la Conselleria de Acción Social y Ciudadanía. Este medio centenar de familias, que ya tienen un menor asignado, tenían el proceso parado desde mayo de 2007.
El Gobierno nepalés no contempla de forma "inminente" aprobar una nueva legislación en materia de adopciones, según confirmó a la Conselleria el Ministerio de Trabajo y Asuntos Sociales español y la Embajada española en Delhi (Nepal).
Asimismo, el Gobierno nepalés quiere resolver las adopciones "de acuerdo con la legislación vigente actualmente y analizando los expedientes individualmente".
En declaraciones a Europa Press, la directora del Instituto Catalán de la Acogida y la Adopción (ICAA), Sílvia Casellas, consideró una "muy buena noticia" el anuncio del Ejecutivo nepalés porque significa que "en un breve periodo de tiempo", que no especificó, los procesos "podrán ser finalizados".
A pesar de que hay 50 adopciones paradas con menor asignado, pendientes de resolver el proceso de adopción desde mayo de este año, durante el primer trimestre se realizaron un total de 17 adopciones.
Según informó la Conselleria de Acción Social y Ciudadanía, a través del Instituto Catalán de Acogida y de Adopción, seguirá en contacto "permanente" con el Gobierno nepalés, la Embajada española y las entidades que trabajan en este ámbito en este país "con el objetivo de resolver la situación de las familias con expediente de adopción pendiente".
