Kathmandu: The Child-ngo Federation (CNFN) has elected Mr. Prachanda Raj Pradhan as their new Chairperson.

The federation had its general election on 29 July 2007 which is held every three years.  Mr. Pradhan succeeds the outgoing Chairperson Mr. Upendra Neupani after his second and final term.  Mr. Prachanda had a unanimous support without any opposition, same was with the vice president Bishwo Ram Khadka from Maiti Nepal.  Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal from Sarah group won over Binod Karki on the post of Genral Secretary, similary Ajay Singh Karki lost to Rudra Kandhanwa of Budhist Child Home. Sanu Maharjan had a landslide victory as treasurer.  There were sixteen nominations for members of CNFN, five elected are Pratima Pathak, Kedar Dahal, Maya Sunwar, Sapna Rana and Savitri Basnet.

Besides Sanu Maharjan and Pratima Pathak this tenure has elected altogether a new team.  Hopefully the team will work successfully to solve the present adoption crises in the right direction expressed all. CNFN is a platform of several adoption activities.  CNFN had organized Inter Country Adoption conference in March here which was not as positive for international adoption as expected.  CNFN representative is also one of the member on the International Adoption reviewing committee at the Ministry of Women Children and Social Welfare.
