Atlanta Children’s Advocacy Group Staffs Dutch Office
International Advocates for Children (IAC), a watchdog for orphaned and abandoned children worldwide, has hired a full-time staff member for its Amsterdam office as the nonprofit organization seeks to build stronger bonds with European governments and expand its operations throughout the continent.
According to Lynda Lee Smith, executive director of IAC, the organization provides a tracking system of orphaned children around the world through proprietary software that it acquired in its partnership with Trans Parent Systems Inc. The group opened its suburban Atlanta office in 2001 and a volunteer office in Amsterdam last year.
The establishment of an overseas office was part of IAC’s strategy, which has earmarked the opening of satellite offices on every continent.
