STEVENS POINT -- Jason Dolski pleaded guilty Monday to two charges for his role in an illegal adoption last year after reaching a plea agreement with the Portage County district attorney's office.

The agreement called for Dolski to plead guilty to unauthorized placement for adoption and a burglary charge stemming from a 2005 incident. Three other charges -- abduction of another's child as party to the crime, false statement on a birth certificate as party to the crime and neglecting a child -- were dismissed but will be considered during his sentencing March 10.

Under the plea agreement, Dolski would serve three years in prison and then three years of extended supervision.

Because the dismissed charges will be considered, and the maximum sentences for unauthorized placement for adoption and burglary are six years and 12 years, respectively, Dolski could receive a harsher punishment, said Portage County Assistant District Attorney Veronica Isherwood.

Dolski entered his pleas in a monotone voice, responding quickly and quietly to all of Judge Frederic Fleishauer's questions.

"I took a child without legally adopting the child," Dolski said when asked whether he understood what he would be pleading guilty to. "I promised to pay money for the child."

Dolski and his wife, Bobbi Jo Dolski, offered Amanda Zblewski money for her child but never paid her. Zblewski, who will serve 12 months of probation for her role, testified in August that she planned to put the child up for adoption through Lutheran Social Services, but thought allowing Jason Dolski to sign the birth certificate as the father was a legal way to adopt the child.

According to court records, Stevens Point police served a warrant on the Dolski home May 4. During an interview with Zblewski, she said that Jason Dolski wasn't the child's biological father.

Bobbi Jo Dolski had the biological father sign a form she printed from a Web site that purportedly terminated his parental rights. The child's biological father also believed the adoption was legal.

Jason Dolski was given sole legal custody of the child in June 2008. He later admitted he and his wife tried to buy the child because they couldn't afford to legally adopt him.

Bobbi Jo Dolski will have a plea hearing Thursday.
