Fundación Sobrevivientes: Nunca mas (Never again)

After 36 years of systematic human rights violations in Guatemala we have the slogan: "Never again" to the acts of violence that left thousands of Guatemalan families bereaved as were cases of extrajudicial executions, kidnappings, massacres, forced disappearance, among others. However, despite the efforts of civil society because these acts were not repeated as we are sad day day Guatemalan families face today acts of violence that cause pain and fear, with impunity in most of them.

This is the situation for children; Angiely, Arlen Escarleth and Heidi Sarai, now under the identity of "Karen Abigail Lopez Garcia (Karen Abigail Monahan Vanhorn), Cindy Garcia (Cindy Thomas Colwell) and Kimberly Jimenez Azucena (Kimberly Azucena Ocheltree ) in 2006 were torn from the arms of their mothers, who since then have remained a constant struggle to determine the whereabouts of their minor daughters, as well as research that leads to identify those responsible so that they face justice for the crime of human trafficking among others.

Some consider that this is a losing battle that will not bring the children back to the country, which have other moms and kids that they want a "burden", these people definitely do not know what love is A mother and what it can do for the love of a daughter or a son, only this feeling that we know we know that the struggle of Mrs. Rachel, Olga and Loyda is unwavering love of a fight and we have therefore decided to accompany and support them in this journey that is full of visitudes many challenges and risks. It has been two years of searching, and we know the truth and we have gone through the same thing in court to prove that the processes of adoption through which the children came out of the country are run by abnormal trafficking networks that for years have been enriched with the marketing of our children in the market for international adoptions, which is why we demand the annulment of these processes and the adoption is invalid and girls return to their country and within your home .

Tras 36 años de sistemáticas violaciones a los derechos humanos, en Guatemala nos planteamos la consigna de: “NUNCA MAS” a los hechos de violencia que dejaron a miles de familias guatemaltecas enlutadas como lo fueron los casos de ejecuciones extrajudiciales, secuestros, masacres, la desaparición forzada entre otros. Sin embargo pese a los esfuerzos de la sociedad civil organizada porque estos actos no se repitieran vemos con tristeza como día día las familias guatemaltecas enfrentamos hoy actos de violencia que causan dolor y temor, quedando en la impunidad la mayoría de ellos.

Esta es la situación del caso de las menores; Angiely, Arlen Escarleth y Heidi Sarai, hoy bajo la identidad de “Karen Abigail López García (Karen Abigail Monahan Vanhorn), Cindy García (Cindy Colwell Thomas) y Kimberly Azucena Jiménez (Kimberly Azucena Ocheltree) que en el 2006 fueron arrancadas de los brazos de sus madres, quienes desde ese momento han mantenido una lucha constante por determinar el paradero de sus menores hijas, así como la investigación que lleve a identificar a los responsables para que estos respondan ante la justicia por el delito de trata de personas entre otros.

Hay quienes consideran que esta es una batalla perdida, que no se va a lograr que las menores retornen al país, que las mamas tienen otros hijos y que para que quieren una “carga mas”, definitivamente estas personas no conocen lo que es el amor de una madre y de lo que se es capaz de hacer por amor a una hija o un hijo, Solo los que conocemos este sentimiento sabemos que la lucha de doña Raquel, Olga y Loyda es una lucha de amor inclaudicable y por ello hemos decidido acompañarlas y apoyarlas en este caminar que esta lleno de visitudes de muchos retos y riesgos. Han transcurrido dos años de búsqueda, y hoy conocemos la verdad y por lo mismo hemos acudido ante la justicia para demostrar que los procesos de adopción a través de los cuales las menores salieron fuera del país, son anómalos ejecutados por redes de trata de personas que durante años se han enriquecido con la comercialización de nuestros niños y niñas en el mercado de adopciones internacionales, razón por la cual exigimos la nulidad de estos procesos y que la adopción quede sin efecto y que las niñas retornen al país y al seno de su hogar.

Por lo que hacemos un llamado a los jueces del juzgado quinto de primera instancia civil, al juzgado séptimo de primera instancia civil y al juzgado octavo de primera instancia civil a realizar las actuaciones pertinentes de conformidad con la ley aplicando los principios de celeridad, prontitud, eficacia y sobre todo justicia pues no es un favor lo que se solicita ante nuestros órganos jurisdiccionales sino el cumplimiento de la ley.

Esta actividad inicia hoy pero no sabemos cuando finalizará ya que ello dependerá de la celeridad y prontitud con que actúen los jueces. Desde ya pedimos la solidaridad de la población, de las organizaciones sociales y la intervención de las instituciones de Estado concretamente al Presidente Alvaro Colom, al Presidente del Congreso de la República y del presidente del Organismo Judicial, no podemos pasar por alto los niveles de responsabilidad del Estado por estos hechos. Porque este no es un problema de tres mamas sino de toda Guatemala que dìa dìa se desangra por el accionar de los grupos criminales y la falta de aplicación de justicia.
