Casey and Sandy Parsons are moving

The Parsons family spent much of Tuesday packing up a U-Haul and are reportedly moving in with family.
Sandy Parsons, the adoptive father of missing teen Erica Parsons, and two others were seen loading a moving truck, their personal truck and mini van. Casey Parsons did not appear to be at the home.
Erica, 15, has been missing since November 2011 but was only reported missing July 30 by adoptive brother James.
The family could be heard every now and then talking very loudly inside the house at 218 Miller Chapel Road. At one point a member of the family took cell phone pictures of the media gathered across the street.
Sandy Parsons got into the U-Haul truck, made a wide turn and nearly struck reporters positioned across the street. He then began yelling at the reporters. The story has gained not only local media attention, but national, as well.
Investigators and the Parsonses’ own attorney, Carlyle Sherrill, have said there is nothing illegal about the family leaving or moving. Sandy and Casey Parsons have not been charged.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has said they are aware the couple have moved and will remain in contact with them and their attorney. Officials with the Sheriff’s Office, SBI and FBI continue to investigate.
The couple maintain they had nothing to do with Erica’s disappearance, but say she is in Asheville living with her biological grandmother, Irene “Nan” Goodman.
Law enforcement and most recently, Erica’s biological father Billy Goodman’s family have said Irene Goodman does not exist. Christina Goodman, Billy’s niece, told the Post there was a grandmother, but her name was Chloe, and she died in 2005.
Family members of the Parsonses including Casey’s sister, Robin, have told law enforcement they saw Casey beat Erica. Casey and Sandy have denied abuse allegations.
The community showed their support recently with a candlelight vigil where more than 100 people attended. The vigil was held at a neighbor’s house. Sandy and Casey were not there, but Sandy’s brother, Scott, did attend. Erica’s biological mother, Carolyn Parsons, also attended the vigil. A second vigil has been postponed to Sept. 1. A phone call to the couple’s attorney was not immediately returned.
