Billboards with missing teen Erica Parsons’ image to go up

Starting Monday, the image of missing teen Erica Lynn Parsons will go up digital billboards throughout the Charlotte area.

Adams Outdoor Advertising is paying for the billboard, a news release from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said.

The billboard will feature a photo of a younger Erica provided by relatives and an age-progressed image of what she might look like now, at age 15.

It’s part of what the Sheriff’s Office said are additional efforts it is launching along with the SBI and the FBI’s Charlotte office to raise awareness about the case.

Erica Parsons has been seen in Rowan County since December 2011, but was only reported missing on July 30 by her adoptive brother, James.

Her adoptive parents, Sandy and Casey Parsons, say Erica went to live with her biological grandmother in Asheville, a woman they know as Irene “Nan” Goodman.

Authorities haven’t been able to verify that Irene Goodman exists and say the Parsonses haven’t been truthful with them. Investigators have searched the couple’s home and a storage shed they own.
