Child rapist jailed indefinitely

public

A man from Greater Manchester has been jailed indefinitely for a string of sex attacks on children after his latest victim confided in her teacher.

Colin Molloy, 47, of no fixed address, was imprisoned for nine counts of rape on a nine-year-old girl, Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court heard.

He also admitted to raping and sexual assaulting another girl and indecently assaulting a boy, then aged 10.

He must serve a minimum of seven years before being considered for parole.

Molloy's crimes came to light when the nine-year-old girl told her teacher. She was abused from 2007 to this year.

'Dangerous man'

His other two victims, now both adults, only recently reported the abuse which dates back to 1985.

He vanished from his home in Sale and was arrested in Blackpool in February.

Police said Molloy had previous convictions for sexually abusing children.

Detective Constable Rachel Di Nicola, of Trafford CID, said: "Molloy has repeatedly subjected his victims to the most horrific ordeal.

"He is clearly a dangerous man who has preyed on them for his own depraved sexual gratification.

"Molloy has been jailed for a long time now and can no longer pose a threat to children."

Molloy was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register and banned from working with children.
