Boy adopted by Steven and Mikelann Renwick

6 year old boy only allowed in the house for meals, was beaten with switches, and had to sleep in the laundry room with the dogs. He was admitted to the hospital with severe injuries to his head, legs and body, after being in the home about 1 1/2 years. Three other children in the home were adopted as infants. Mikelann and Steven Renwick

I've actually known Mikelann in the past. She went to marriage counseling with her 1st husband (Steven is her 3rd husband that I know of) and ended up running off with him. He was married and had 3 children. And was also the pastor of their church. When we heard she had married again and had adopted 3 children (this was before the 4th who's abuse just came to light), a few of us shook our heads and wondered aloud why anyone would give children to a basket case such as herself. It gives me no joy that our fears were not groundless.

We just received an email

We just received an email from Mikelann Renwick stating:

Please remove this blog post. The case is 2 years old and is closed. It is harmful to our careers.

PPL does not exist to accommodate the careers of people, we do exist to pay attention to abuse in Adoptionland. As such this case and the documentation about it has value to us and will stay online.

Aww, poor victims

News about abuse cases are harmful to careers?

How about the harm done to the placed children?

same email

My site, which also ran the story, received the same email, typed the same way.

This couple is still trying to make a living in ministry, I'm guessing.

It takes a very sick mind to not realize your days of ministry are over when you've abused a child.

BTW.... she has a new photo of herself out... and the last two years hasn't been kind to her. yikes.

Never remove this informational post on Mikelann Renwick

Gotta love the request
but you must pooh pooh it for all the reasons that you set up your website.

Adoption Child abuse takes on many forms and must be made known to the public far and wide.

You do wonder why this couple took on another child. Unfair to the children, and no one really gives a
home study rats ass about the AP's and their futures.
