Boerne man guilty in child-porn case

public

By Guillermo Contreras

A federal jury on Tuesday convicted a Boerne man on charges that he took pornographic pictures of a teenager — the same girl he was convicted of sexually abusing three years ago.

After hearing a day and a half of testimony, jurors found Steven Lynn Mouton, 57, guilty of one count of producing child porn and a separate count of possessing it.

Mouton became a registered sex offender after being convicted of indecency with a child in 2006.

In that state case, he got 10 years of probation with orders to have no contact with children.

The victim in that case is the same girl in the federal case. Probation officers found an image of the nude girl during a home visit in October 2007. An investigation involving the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, San Antonio police and the FBI turned up numerous images of pornography involving several children.

U.S. District Judge Xavier Rodriguez set Mouton's sentencing for Jan. 13.
