India - Satheesh Kumar ("Rahul") case

Sateesh Kumar was kidnapped from his sleeping family in 1999, placed in Malaysian Social Services orphanage, and adopted by a family in the Netherlands in 2001

Nagarani and her husband, E Kathirvel (aka Kadhirvelu) woke up and found their 18 month old son Sateesh missing. He was identified in 2005 after the MSS ring was exposed. Sateesh had been adopted by an ethnic Hindu couple. "Rahul" is the name that some in the Dutch media have used to protect the child and family.
