Two in custody following more arrests in connection with Historical Abuse Enquiry

TWO MORE ARRESTS IN HISTORICAL ABUSE CASE

RELEASED TO MEDIA AT 9.35 AM ON TUESDAY 24 JUNE 2008

A 70 year old man and a 69 year old woman are currently in custody at Police Headquarters in connection with a number of alleged grave and criminal assaults on children within the Jersey Care system in the 1960's and 1970's. 

The man and the woman were arrested in Jersey this morning.

Although the matters are connected to Haut De La Garenne, it is not alleged that the crimes took place at the home. 

No further details will be issued by the States of Jersey Police unless the persons concerned are charged.
