public

The Corson County arraignment has been delayed for former state Representative Ted Klaudt, who is charged with rape and other offenses against two girls who were in foster care at his home near Walker.

A Corson County grand jury has indicted Klaudt on four counts of second-degree rape, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, one count of sexual contact with a child younger than 16, two counts of witness tampering and one count of stalking.

The arraignment had been set for Monday in Corson County. It now has been delayed to July 20th at the Meade County Courthouse in Sturgis.

A grand jury in Hughes County also indicted Klaudt on four counts of second-degree rape, which are alleged to have occurred in Pierre when Klaudt was in the Legislature. At least one of the alleged offenses involving one girl occurred when she was a page during a legislative session.
