Torres pleads guilty in stepsister's death

OXFORD – Marraina Torres pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges stemming from the death of her 2-year-old stepsister.

Torres, 17, pleaded guilty to manslaughter by culpable negligence after initially being charged with capital murder. She was not sentenced but faces 2-20 years in prison.

The child, Enna Baretto, died May 19 from injuries to her head and body.

The parents, Ramon and Janet Barreto, also have been charged with manslaughter by culpable negligence.
