A Summersville Couple Have Been Arrested On Child Abuse Charges

A Summersville couple faces child abuse charges. 56 year old Mark McGregor and 40 year old Melissa McGregor both are charged with two felony counts of child abuse. the charges came after a resident in Shannon County allegedly found a 14 year old girls without shoes and with bloody feet walking down  a county road near Summersville. She allegedly told a neighbor she had not eaten in several days. The young girl allegedly told authorities that she and her twin sister were adopted from Bulgaria and that the McGregors abused them. According to reports the South Central Child Advocacy Center in West Plains said the girls weighed 92 pound s and her sister weighed 76 pounds. The girl had pinworms in her privates and her sister had a distended stomach. Seven other children were living with the McGregors and have been removed from the home. The McGregors posted $100,000 bail and will be in court for arraignment on July 23rd.
