WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) — The trial for a man accused of attempting to murder his adoptive son is being moved to Miami-Dade.

Jorge Barahona and his wife, Carmen, have been accused of attempting to murder his adoptive son, Victor, with harmful chemicals, back in February of 2011.

A judge recently ordered that the trial be moved from Palm Beach County to Miami, after charges were re-filed.

Barahona’s truck was found on Interstate 95, just north of the Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard exit, on Feb. 14. Ten-year-old Victor was found convulsing in the truck with chemical burns, and his sister Nubia’s body was found decomposing and wrapped in plastic.

Miami-Dade prosecutors in Nubia’s case are seeking the death penalty against Barahona and his wife. Both are also accused of more than a dozen other felonies involving years of torture and the abuse of Victor and Nubia.
