Enlist In Army [private]

Four youths from this area recently enlisted in the U. S. Army, it was announced by Sergeant LeRoy Devine of the local Army recruiting office They were Donald Ellsworth Briggs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ward E. Briggs, Bayside; Lynwood E. Vinum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Vinum, 1492 F street, Arcata; Don L. Pavlich, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pavlich, 3828 H street, Eureka; and Julian W. Perry, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs.' Richard A. McDaniel of Garberville. Briggs enlisted for the Engineers, Vinum and Pavlich for the Ordinance Corps, and Perry for the Equipment Maintenance course.
