public

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City police are investigating the death of a 3-year-old.

According to police, officers responded to a call about an unresponsive child at about 9:50 a.m. Sunday. When officers arrived they found the infant, 3-year-old Larandon Nichols, to be deceased. Officers pronounced the infant dead at the scene.

It is unclear what led to the child's death.

Police said they arrested 32-year-old Alibra Nichols and 35-year-old Donald Miller after conducting interviews with them in connection to the child's death.

Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said Alibra Nichols is Larandon's adoptive mother, and Miller is her boyfriend.

Both were booked into the Oklahoma County jail on murder complaints and were being held without bond.

Neither has been formally charged.
