Mississippi Families for Kids is a private nonprofit, non-sectarian, statewide child welfare agency specializing in community-based adoption, foster care, and recruitment services. In January 1994, the W. K. Kellogg Foundation awarded Mississippi Families for Kids a grant to implement a child focused, solution based, permanency planning program for the State of Mississippi. Mississippi Families for Kids is a collaborative effort consisting of public agencies, private organizations, foster and adoption parents, birth parents, advocacy groups, business leaders, ministerial associations and elected officials, working together to ensure permanency options for children in the adoption and foster care system.
