Prince William will add to social services dept.

public

WASHINGTON (AP) - Prince William County will hire 11 new employees to a social services department that has been stretched by inadequate staffing. The spending comes after the death of a developmentally disabled child in January.

The addition of the employees will help bring the caseload from 24 cases per employee to 12.

In January, the body of 13-year-old Alexis Glover was found in Woodbridge in a 2-foot-deep creek. The girl's adoptive mother pleaded guilty to abusing and killing her daughter. A social worker was fired and two others disciplined.
