Fund-raiser helps pay for Magnolia girl's funeral

MAGNOLIA -- A benefit fish fry to raise money to purchase a headstone and cover the funeral expenses of Jordan "Bean" Elizabeth Cain will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 at Frawley's Pub in Magnolia.

Cain, 3, died at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 25 in St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria from injuries she received while living with foster parents Janice Schryer and Matt Archer in Granville. Archer, 28, has been charged with first-degree murder. Tickets for the benefit are available for $5 and includes dinner, a disc jockey and door prizes.

The drawing, which will be at 8 p.m., awards first place with $200; second place with $100 and third place with a $50 gift certificate from Walter Bros. Harley Davidson.

Tickets are available at Hofer's Pub and Grandma's Bar and Grill in Henry, Lacon Lanes and Kenyon's in Lacon, Sam's in Hennepin, Frawley's Pub in Magnolia and Archway Tap in Oglesby.

A Jordan Cain account has been set up by Viva Keller at the Eureka Savings Bank in Oglesby for those wishing to make monetary donations. All proceeds will go to headstone purchase and remaining funeral expenses.
