Parents of dead baby sue state, DCF

public

Hartford (WTNH) - The parents of a 7-month old baby who died while in the care of the state is suing for $15 million.

Michael Brown Jr. died while in the care of Suzanne Listro, who was at the time a DCF employee and foster care mother to the boy.

Listro has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges connected to Michael's death and has since been terminated by DCF.

An internal investigation at DCF uncovered serious problems at DCF, including why the baby was placed in the care of Listro when she was already investigated twice on abuse allegations.

Michael's parents, Michael Brown Sr. and Angelica Burgos of East Hartford, are suing the state of Connecticut and DCF.
