Aden Kay Thornock 1920 ~ 2007

RANDOLPH, UT- Aden Kay Thornock, 87, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away on December 14, 2007 in Evanston, Wyoming. He was born to Aden Woodruff and Lucille Moffat Thornock on June 10, 1920 in Rigby, Idaho. He graduated from South Rich High School. He faithfully served a mission to Canada for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many ward and stake assignments including Young Men leader, Bishopric and High Councilman. Kay married his childhood sweetheart, Kathleen Rose Rex, in the Salt Lake temple on October 6, 1941 and they recently celebrated sixty-six years of happy years together. His whole life was centered around his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a true family man. Kay was a rancher, cattleman and businessman and was in partnership with his friend and brother, Russell Thornock (the Scrud Brothers) for twenty-eight years. He always appreciated and enjoyed the friendships he made in the livestock business. He also enjoyed public service and served as a Rich County commissioner and was on the area advisory board of Zions Bank. He was an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America.

Kay will be deeply missed by his family. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; four children, Gaylon Thornock (JoAnne South) Evanston, Wyoming;

Gordon Thornock (Danalee Knouse) Cokeville, Wyoming

; Gloria Armstrong (Brent) Farmington, Utah; and Gregory Thornock (Colleen Picklesimer) Randolph, Utah; twenty-six grandchildren and fifty-three great-grandchildren; brother, Russell Thornock, Cokeville, Wyoming; sister, Lois Ann Brown, Farson, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Willa Kennedy (Sis); and granddaughter, Nicole Marie Thornock (Nikki).

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, Wyoming. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Randolph ward chapel. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 a.m. prior to services at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Primary Children's Hospital or the LDS church missionary fund.
