Caught at the Embassy wanting to obtain visas for minors with false documentation
The National Civil Police yesterday arrested Hector Conrado Valdez, 43, and Roxana Mazariegos Marisol Lopez, 36, at the U.S. Embassy when they sought, with false documents, visas for two children, who were in the custody of the Attorney General's Office.
The arrest was made at approximately 10 am, and in the afternoon, the Criminal Court of First Instance of the shift was released on bail, but the process linked to material misrepresentation and falsification of documents.
The prosecution must document the wrongdoing.
For its part, the police yesterday arrested if part of a band of robbers or traffickers.
An official source informed that the file will be sent to the Traffic in Persons Section of the Division of Criminal Investigation, to establish where the documents were forged and who are the leaders of this network and what is his modus operandi.

La Policía Nacional Civil detuvo ayer a Héctor Conrado Valdez, de 43 años, y a Roxana Marisol Mazariegos López, de 36, cuando en la Embajada de los EE. UU. pretendían obtener, con documentación falsa, visas para dos menores, quienes quedaron bajo la custodia de la Procuraduría General de la Nación.
La detención se efectuó a eso de las 10 horas, y por la tarde, el Juzgado de Primera Instancia Penal de Turno los dejó en libertad bajo fianza, pero los ligó a proceso por falsedad material y falsificación de documentos.
El Ministerio Público debe documentar los hechos ilícitos.
Por su parte, la Policía investigaba ayer si los detenidos integran una banda de robachicos o de traficantes de personas.
Una fuente oficial informó que el expediente será enviado a la Sección de Trata de Personas, de la División de Investigaciones Criminológicas, para que se establezca dónde fueron falsificados los documentos y quiénes son los dirigentes de esa red y cuál es su forma de operar.
Los detectives de la Policía también deberán establecer la verdadera identidad de los menores, para asegurar que son guatemaltecos y quiénes son sus padres, para entregarlos.
